Left side of frame marked" Edward Maynard/Patentee/May 27, 1851/Dec. 6, 1869", followed by "1873". Model 1882 with centrally mounted hammer & thin gap breech. Mid-range for rear tang sight with fixed open bbl. sights. Checkered pistol grip stock & Schnable forend of fancy black walnut with silver plated brass Schuetzen butt plate. CONDITION: Bbl. retains 80% fading blue mixing with spots of patina & light pitting. Action retains traces of case colors blending with patina & areas of very light pitting. Stock & forearm have original finish with heavy handling marks & good checkering. Sound mechanics. Bore has good rifling with some very light pitting. (01-5379/DS). ANTIQUE. $2500-3500.
